There were a few delays caused by the slightly shocking weather including high winds earlier in the month but SPAL’s Adam Betteridge finally made his wild camping trip to Dartmoor last weekend (22/23 May).
Originally planned for November 2020 and shelved for obvious reasons, Adam couldn’t wait to get back to the great outdoors and challenge himself with the rugged landscape and the unpredictable elements.
Great progress after High Willhays
Here is a report of his latest quest:
“For the first time ever on our trips we got the views!!
“The morning started off in true Dartmoor style with low mist and driving rain, but after bagging High Willhays – the highest point in UK below the Brecon Beacons, we continued to bag 9 more tors in the day, arriving at Great Mis Tor for our night’s accommodation under the stars.“
A great way to round out National Walking Month.
