There’s no let up for our Junior Rally contender Rob Wilson. The Solway Coast Stages proved punishing on both the car and driver with the fickle finger of fate keeping the team 23 seconds off qualifying in the top 3.
“One of the hardest days rallying I have ever had. The day started all wrong when we clipped a chicane after trying to push too hard, bending a steering arm and meaning that we lost 30 second; finding ourselves in 11th place.
“We were all repaired and off to the next stage when the car struck again and the wishbone popped out losing us more time. We then went for the big push, but couldn’t make up the 30 seconds and in the end came away with 4th out of 28 and 23 seconds behind 3rd.
“Next event is at Caerwent on September 30th where we will of course be pushing for another win. Thanks for the support.”
Once again SPAL is gripped by the thrills and spills and ready for the next chapter!
