SPAL is strengthening its links with Construction Equipment Association (CEA) as a pathway to promote its range of high-performance thermal management fans and their role in reducing emissions.
The proven technology is a crossover from the bus & coach sector where retro-fitting conventional hydraulic fan systems with electric fan arrays has delivered an average 11% fuel saving and lower emissions over a long term ‘real world’ evaluation.
This is in line with the CEA’s role in ensuring emissions compliance for off-highway machinery and equipment.
Another avenue is system cooling for alternative fuelled vehicles particularly hydrogen, where electric propulsion is not an option; which dovetails with similar projects SPAL is exploring in the agricultural sector.
