Maggie Lech is on course to top up her skills

Maggie Lech, BDM transport refrigeration sector at SPAL Automotive UK has a yearning for learning sparked by having to find new ways of working during the pandemic; so to top up these new skills she is now undertaking an ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership & Management.

Taking place over 4 days, the intensive course is about understanding leadership and how to manage others - skills which will be useful in the workplace and life in general.

Maggie says: “Certain elements of my current role I have learned on the job such training other people and during lockdown that had to be done virtually which got me thinking about being more prepared as we adapt to the new dynamic of hybrid working."

Fine-tuning interactions with customers

“With the ILM course I will be learning how to give better briefings and presentations which will help if there is a situation where I can’t be face to face with a customer or colleague.“

Being part of a team, it is vital that you know how to deal with people in a positive way which I believe is already one of my skills but I am keen to explore that particularly in areas such as resolving conflict.“

The best thing about any new learning is that it helps you to understand what you already know which gives you the confidence to aim higher and keep on building your knowledge.”
