SPAL is renewing its sponsorship support for bright young rally driver Rob Wilson for 2021.
Focus is on Nicky Grist Stages
Although the season has yet to get underway pending a decision to open the forests, Rob hopes his first race will be the Nicky Grist Stages on 10th July.
In the meantime, Rob has his A Level exams to finish.
If the BTRDA championship restarts, Rob will be competing in a newly created class - the Junior 1600 R2 Cup.
It is an opportunity to go for £150 prize money for each event as well benefit from expert tuition from the two times British Rally champion.
Rob Wilson Motorsport aims to be a big player this year
He says:
“This class over the last three years has been the closest championship, as far as times go, for inside the UK and on my first appearance in the championship last January, I showed I can compete at the highest level having taken home second place.
“Naturally, I already have the car fully ready to go from last season. It’s the perfect car for the championship which puts me in the best possible position to compete.
“There's a real opportunity here to make a name for ourselves and put up a fight against the bigger teams as we have always punched above our weight and with great success. The biggest teams in the UK will all have their eye on this championship as well as motorsport fans across the UK and we fully intend to make an impact.”
