SPAL Automotive UK MD Matthew Morris had a ‘cracking afternoon’ attending the Harper Adams Development Trust Scholarship presentation where 143 students were awarded various scholarships to enrich their studies at the specialist university.
Matthew was there to present Emily Jones, MEng Automotive Engineering (Off Highway) with the exclusive SPAL Scholarship for £2,500 to provide additional financial assistance in her degree course as well as tapping into the Harper Adams’ professional network to make those important connections before embarking on her future career.
As the UK arm of the Italian globally renowned designer and manufacturer of high performance axial fan and centrifugal blowers, SPAL UK got behind the Harper Adams scholarship programme in order to highlight to students its product range for agricultural applications and their role in helping reduce vehicle emissions, in compliance with Stage V and Euro 6 standards.
Admiring the students in their smart country tweeds Matthew commented: “We have been extremely impressed with the Harper Adams Engineering Department and with the calibre of students we’ve encountered there. Today was a very well organised event with a great buzz in the room. I was taken aback by the sheer wealth of talent of the younger generation, as well as the enthusiasm and positivity which I’m sure they will bring to developing new solutions for tackling the big issues facing the planet in the coming decades, to help managing the environment and ensure sustainable food resources.”
SPAL will look forward to keeping up with Emily’s progress as she completes her degree before taking up a full time role, following a year’s placement, at world leading construction & mining equipment manufacturer, Caterpillar.
