Exciting times ahead as SPAL appoints new head of OEM Sales

Announcing new team member

Introducing Pawel Cierniak

SPAL UK is pleased to introduce Pawel Cierniak as OEM Business Development Manager at a time of seismic change for the automotive industry and accordingly an extremely exciting time for us as world leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance fans and blowers.

Pawel Cierniak as OEM Business Development Manager

Promoting our advanced technological products

Pawel’s role will be focused on the UK market, promoting SPAL’s advanced technology brushless motor products for main engine and battery thermal management, and blowers for HVAC. He will be looking to support OEMs on their journey to lower emissions through expanding EV platforms and branching out into alternative fuelled vehicles

He joins SPAL Automotive with real experience of cooling systems having worked on projects across a variety of sectors including bus & coach, rail, off-highway and defence, so he already has an in- depth knowledge of our products and how they perform in different applications.

Some words from Pawel

“SPAL brushless fans are featured on many cooling pack applications, so I have seen the products in action and have had good feedback about quality and reliability,” Pawel confirms.

He adds: “I have had such a warm welcome from the team at SPAL UK. I’m delighted to be here and am ready to make a strong, positive impact on the business.”

Pawel’s rigorous recruitment process has included interviews with SPAL Automotive MD Matthew Morris, and with the directors from SPAL Group’s Italian factory HQ where he spent 2 days.

“The manufacturing site is impressive, such a neat, clean environment and the setup there is quite stunning,” he reports. “SPAL stands apart from other manufacturers as from the design stage onwards every process, from tooling through the raw material stage to the finished product, including the all-important validation and testing, is done in house. Clearly, SPAL knows their stuff and invests in people.”

Joining us at a time of growth

Ten years ago, the team at SPAL comprised 300 people, now they employ 1,200. This phenomenal growth is set to continue, with the opening of a second facility in China dedicated to injection moulding and assembly, reflecting SPAL’s true global reach as a company.

During his downtime, 38-year-old Pawel is creative and plans to design and build his own house using his skills in carpentry. He enjoys sports and likes playing squash, which he describes as a very intense game; but most of all he is a sociable person and says he can’t wait to get back ‘out there’.

He concludes, “Salespeople don’t like to be locked down they have a craving to be with other people - on the road, meeting customers or attending exhibitions. It’s something that is in the DNA. Having had my first conference call with a customer, I am really looking forward to some face-to-face interaction.”

SPAL UK MD Matthew Morris adds, “It’s great to have Pawel on board as we have plenty of enquiries and projects coming in, and the next few quarters are shaping up to be a really successful for the business."
