Armed with doughnuts, Patricia Mori BDM, bus & coach sector at SPAL Automotive UK paid a visit to Newport and met with Paul Smart, Stores Manager and Joshua Lewis, Stores Administrator to find out more.
About Newport Bus
We've been helping people get about the city for over 120 years and are proud to be chosen by more than 7.6m customers every year to get them to their destinations safely and on time. As the city's main bus provider, we run more than 40 services throughout Newport as well as to and from Cardiff, Cwmbran, Chepstow and Monmouth.
We operate a well-maintained fleet of 100 vehicles including 33 new Yutong electric buses which can even do up to 200 miles off a single charge! Newport Bus was the first operator in Wales to run a fleet of electric buses, which was launched during the pandemic in October 2020.
How long have you been using SPAL components?
As a company we have been using SPAL components for many years as we find the price and reliability fantastic, the performance is superior to other products, and the buying process very easy.
Which SPAL components do you use in your vehicles?
The blower we use most regularly is probably the 006-B40-22 - it’s reliable and a good quality fit for our Scania OmniCity buses.
What is your experience of SPAL’s customer service?
We have enjoyed dealing with Patricia Mori from day one! She has been very friendly and helpful throughout the whole process of setting up SPAL as a direct supplier, and pops down regularly for a chat and to keep us aware of SPAL’s new products.
