OBR to build multi-year legacy for Formula Student

Formula Student contender Oxford Brookes Racing has been mulling over its team performance and has thanked SPAL for its support in the July FSUK competition.

Despite achieving some excellent results, the OBR team were acutely aware that the hard work put into preparing a race car for scrutineering needs constant adjusting as the criteria can be exacting and proved that the lessons learned needed to be passed on to future teams.

OBR committed to sharing its learning for future teams

As Yannick Degrosonay, Head of Business Development & Technical Partnerships Lead, Oxford Brookes Racing explained:

“The knowledge transfer from the scrutineers and the hard work of our electrical engineers means that we now have great experience and fully understand scrutineering demands.  As our mission statement is about the build of a multi-year legacy, we are committed to sharing our learning with the next generations of the team.”

The OBR22 electric car entry delivered a 1st place in the new category of Lap Time Simulation and a 1st in Engineering Design, the latter making history as OBR is only Formula Student team to win the Design Event twice.

Another gong was the FSUK 22 award for most valuable team member presented to OBR’s chief mechanical engineer, Taichi Yoshida in memory of motorsport enthusiast and former Oxford Brookes student Craig Dawson.

Well done OBR! Glad we could help keep the battery system cool with our high-performance fans and do let us know what you get up to next.
