LAMMA 23 generates enquiries for alternative fan applications

Fresh from two days at LAMMA surrounded by impressive applications with SPAL fans onboard, good conversations with the bigger spares distributors and spotting opportunities for the new range of brushless water pumps; SPAL UK MD Matthew Morris was impressed by enquiries for alternative applications for the range of high-performance fans.

SPAL fans are not just for engine bay cooling and the thermal management of hydraulics on enormous articulated combines but can also be employed to dry out wood for kindling. Using SPAL fans to circulate the air to remove moisture rather than super-heated kilns is the perfect low energy solution for these times.

Another angle was provided by a customer looking at farm building ventilation using powerful brushless fans to blow ambient air around the space and its occupants - a great solution for keeping poultry supplied with fresh air and safe inside from avian flu.

LAMMA was also a chance to catch up with fellow exhibitors Harper Adams University to discuss the SPAL Scholarship now in its 4th year and plan the conundrum to pose to engineering students keen to hone their approach to tackling real-world challenges.
